The Grand Army of the Republic Museum and Library contains the only research collection devoted to the Civil War in Philadelphia. It holds over 6,000 books, magazines, pamphlets, newspapers, and original source documents that include individual biographies and unit histories which are especially useful to amateur and professional genealogists. The research library is open to the public during regular museum hours. Please make an appointment with the museum if you'd like to have access to the archives for your research. We welcome all who are interested in historical and genealogical research and those who are curious to know who these veterans were and what they accomplished.
